Wildlife Viewing

Watching birds is one of the most popular recreational pursuits today. The late Roger Tory Peterson, famous artist and author of the Peterson Field Guide to the Birds once said “Birds are a visual treat that reaffirms the joy and goodness of living. Birds are also the most elegant expression of life”. Conservation Halton has 6 parks that have excellent birding opportunities that include a wide range of habitats.

Where can I spot wildlife?

You might spot wildlife at the following Conservation Halton parks:

Crawford Lake Conservation Area

Hilton Falls Conservation Area

Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area

Environmental Ethics and Trail Etiquette

Conservation Halton trails pass through sensitive natural areas that protect fragile plants and wildlife. Staying on the marked trails, not littering, keeping your dog on a leash and not removing natural materials helps protect these beautiful parks. Many of the trails are shared by hikers, mountain bikers, cross country skiers and equestrians.  Keeping to the right allows others to pass when trails are busy. Have a great birding experience and visit the parks in every season.
